Bob and Vivian Smith Epilepsy Program
Established in 1988, the Epilepsy Education and Research Program demystifies epilepsy by teaching patients and their family members and friends about this neurological disorder. Staff provides information about what it means to have epilepsy, medical testing and diagnosis, seizure recognition and first aid, medications and side effects, practical tips on reducing the frequency of seizures, and pregnancy and epilepsy. This free consultation service is funded by the Bob and Vivian Smith Foundation. Berthelsen Program on the Restoration of Intestinal Microbiota (B-PRIM)
B-PRIM conducts clinical research focused on restoring the intestinal microbiome to treat a variety of disorders including recurrent Clostridium difficile infection, Parkinson’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and obesity in patients with fatty liver disease. David N. Scoular Digestive Disease Research Center
The David N. Scoular Digestive Disease Research Center focuses on the ravages of digestive diseases, the most common chronic illness in the U.S. In collaboration with University of Texas - School of Public Health and School of Medicine, Baylor College of Medicine, University of Houston - School of Pharmacy and physicians at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, the Foundation has assembled one of the most prominent and effective research groups in this field to conduct groundbreaking research in the restoration of intestinal microbiome in the therapy of chronic disorders. Joe and Jessie Crump Cancer Program
A Joint Program of the Kelsey Research Foundation and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic
Established in 1983, the mission of the Cancer Center, a joint program of the Kelsey Research Foundation and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, is to improve the quality of cancer care and health outcomes of patients with cancer at Kelsey-Seybold. The Cancer Center continues to develop and maintain integrated programs in cancer education, prevention, patient care and research.
