In 2010, in order to honor the memory of David Scoular, the Kelsey Research Foundation and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic established the David N. Scoular Digestive Disease Research Center. For almost two decades, David Scoular was a distinguished member of the Foundation's Board of Directors and for many years served as President and Chairman. His commitment to excellence and devotion to our mission to improve the quality of patient care and health outcomes earned him a place of honor in the Houston community.

The Center focuses on the ravages of digestive diseases, the most common chronic illness in the U.S. In collaboration with University of Texas - School of Public Health and School of Medicine, Baylor College of Medicine, University of Houston - School of Pharmacy and physicians at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, the Foundation has assembled one of the most prominent and effective research groups in this field to conduct groundbreaking research in the restoration of intestinal microbiome in the therapy of chronic disorders. Our team includes recognized leaders in this field who are moving towards effective treatments of these conditions.
